Health Block Party
Kettering College, Kettering Seventh Day Adventist Church, and Kettering Health Network are collaborating and hosting a Health Block Party on April 8, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. This event is a partnership with the Potter’s House in West Dayton. This event is an opportunity to provide basic health service in an area that would not otherwise have this opportunity. The Health Block Party will consist of the following:
– health screenings
– dental education
– Shoes for the Homeless
– food service
– music and activities for kids
The Health Block Party is a great opportunity for students to volunteer to make an impact in the local Dayton community. Volunteers of all skill level are needed therefore students can gain experience through this event while also making a difference in the lives of others. Health professionals can also volunteer to implement health screenings. Individuals can also volunteer to help staff the event through passing out materials at different booths, help grill and serve food, help with children activities, help pass out shoes, etc.
