While Kettering College provides an excellent educational experience for their students, we also hope that our students will grow in their knowledge and relationship with Jesus. He is the reason we gather, serve, and exist. Our desire is to encounter HIM as we become the kind of people He has in mind for us!
Every week is packed with opportunities to connect spiritually. The Collective program on Friday nights allows students to settle down and relax with food and worship amongst community. Every morning in the Chaplain’s office, students are invited for a quick prayer and a hot beverage to start the day. Although Kettering College is a Seventh-day Adventist institution, we acknowledge and respect every form of belief and would only love to take a break from the daily duties of studying and working and to just worship together.
Do you ever feel like you could use an uplifting, an encouraging moment in the middle of your busy day? Kettering 60 is designed exactly for that. It is a moment in time that you can spend investing in your relationship with God. Just one moment will change your entire day for the better. Kettering Health Network provides a series of 60 second devotional videos released every Monday to help feed your spiritual hunger.
Assembly and Convocation
Convocations for the 2016-17 academic year are scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. The entire campus community (students, faculty, staff and administration) meets in the church across the street from the campus for a ceremony that includes academic pageantry.
Friday Assembly occurs once a month during the fall and winter semesters. It is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. Unless you are eligible for an automatic exemption or have a special exemption through your program chair, you are required to attend.
Automatic exemptions are given to students who do not have classes before 11:30 a.m. Fridays and for students who are registered for clinical requirements on Fridays. Any additional requests for exemption must be made in writing to the respective program chairs for details. Students must submit their completed request forms for exemptions preferably before, but no later than one week after, a scheduled spiritual emphasis appointment. NOTE: There is a $15.00 charge for not attending Convocation and/or Spiritual Emphasis Fridays if you are required to attend. If you need to be exempt for special reasons, please see your program chair.
Student LIFE Study
Student LIFE Study is held on Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the Youth Sabbath School room. Come by for breakfast and fellowship, followed by an interactive worship involving discussion. If you haven’t visited yet, please stop by! We would be delighted to have you.
Come by the Chaplain’s office at 9:15 a.m. every weekday morning and bring concerns, prayer requests, prayers, or anything else you may need to talk about. This time of togetherness is designed to provide a spot where you can talk about your week, have a cup of coffee, and then begin your day with prayer.
We want to strive to make prayer a big part of daily life at Kettering College. That’s why we offer things like Hot.Spot, a daily time when students can gather together for prayer. But what if you’re not able to make it on campus for that time or you are an online student? You can be a part of this time of prayer as well! We want to pray for you in specific ways. Please feel free to submit a prayer request or praise below. You can submit these prayers anonymously or you can add your contact info and ask that your request be shared with the daily prayer group during Hot.Spot – but either way we just want to pray for you. Your prayer requests will be sent directly to our Chaplain, Steve Carlson. Feel free to specify if you would like to keep these prayer requests between you and the Chaplain or if want him to share them with the rest of the campus ministries team so they can uplift you in prayer.
“Make this common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.” – James 5:16 MSG
Kettering church provides the opportunity to experience Christian music in a positive environment! Join us for an uplifting experience where you can grow closer to God and explore an exciting way to worship Him.
Kaces: Kettering Faces; the faces of Kettering College. Kaces allows you to get to know those people around you with whom you haven’t gotten a chance to interact. God is working in each one of our stories, and what an amazing opportunity to appreciate what He’s doing all around us in each kaces video.
Join us every Friday evening (when school is in session) for supper, worship, and fellowship! We meet at a different home in the community each evening, so check the Student LIFE newsletter each week for the location. Supper is served at 6pm and worship begins at 7pm.
We invite you to join us each week for services at the Kettering SDA church across the street from Kettering College.
There are two service options each Saturday; First serve begins at 9:15 a.m. and second service begins at 11:30 a.m.
