Kettering College Sponsors Free Concert with Award-Winning Singer Michael Card

Kettering, Ohio (Jan. 8) – The Kettering College of Medical Arts Office of Spiritual Life and Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church welcome Christian performing artist Michael Card to Dayton for a free concert on Friday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place at Kettering Adventist Church, located at 3939 Stonebridge Rd., in Kettering. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.

In a career that spans 25 years, Michael Card has recorded over 22 albums, authored or co-authored over 19 books, written for a wide range of magazines, and teaches Bible. “El Shaddai” — one of Christian music’s perennial favorites — was named as one of the 365 songs on the recently released “Songs of the Century” list created by the Recording Industry Association of America and the National Endowment for the Arts. Card's most recent album, “Hymns,” was released in 2008 and features his take on 12 traditional hymns.

Though awards and recognition are always a welcome affirmation of any artist’s work, this is not Michael’s motivation. Michael states, “The purpose of my music, books and concerts is to focus in on and worship Christ. The songs and writing are just vehicles to accomplish this purpose.”
