While Kettering College provides an excellent educational experience for their students, we also hope that our students will grow in their knowledge and relationship with Jesus. He is the reason we gather, serve, and exist. Our desire is to encounter HIM as we become the kind of people He has in mind for us!
Every week is packed with opportunities to connect spiritually. The Collective program on Friday nights allows students to settle down and relax with food and worship amongst community. Every morning in the Chaplain’s office, students are invited for a quick prayer and a hot beverage to start the day. Although Kettering College is a Seventh-day Adventist institution, we acknowledge and respect every form of belief and would only love to take a break from the daily duties of studying and working and to just worship together.
Do you ever feel like you could use an uplifting, an encouraging moment in the middle of your busy day? Kettering 60 is designed exactly for that. It is a moment in time that you can spend investing in your relationship with God. Just one moment will change your entire day for the better. Kettering Health Network provides a series of 60 second devotional videos released every Monday to help feed your spiritual hunger.
Assembly and Convocation
Convocation gathers the entire campus community at the Kettering Adventist Church across the street from the campus for a ceremony that includes academic pageantry. This event happens at the beginning of the fall semester to start the school year. Attendance is mandatory for all students. Online students are invited, but not required to attend. Clinical schedules are adjusted so that everyone can attend. Convocation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m.
NOTE: There is a $25.00 charge for not attending Convocation if you are required to attend. If you need to be exempt for special reasons, please submit the exemption form below to the Dean of Student Success.
Assembly exists to celebrate our school family and rally around our identity as a faith-based institution. It’s a time for playing, growing, worshipping, and learning as a school desiring to experience the life that Jesus has in mind for us. Attendance is mandatory for all students. Online students are invited, but not required to attend.
Assembly is always the first Tuesday of the month from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. This event takes place at the Kettering Adventist Church. Here are the dates for winter semester:
January 7, 2020
February 4, 2020
March 3, 2020
April 7, 2020
Note: Assembly occurs each month during the fall and winter semesters. If an exemption is needed because of a conflict in schedule, please submit the exemption form below to the Dean of Student Success.
Examples of exemptions include:
- students with clinical requirements in their academic program
- students who work during this time
Join us Friday evening (when school is in session) for dinner, worship, and fellowship! We meet at a different home in the community each evening, so check for an email each week from Chaplain Steve Carlson for the location. Dinner is served at 6 p.m. and worship begins at 7 p.m.
Lambda Chi Delta
Lambda Chi Delta is a gathering for women to build relationships, have fun, and learn lessons from the many powerful women of the Bible.
KC Men is a student discipleship group that meets once a month for dinner, hangout, and small group discussions.
Stop by the Oakwood Starbucks (2424 Far Hills Ave. Oakwood, OH 45419) the last Wednesday of each month between 7 and 8pm (with a few exceptions due to school breaks). You’ll be able to get a free beverage of your choice, connect with other students, and find some encouragement in the midst of a busy week.
We believe in the power of prayer. We believe that as we come together for prayer not only are we able to connect with God, but we connect with each as we gather.
