Spring Into Health 5k CANCELED
April 5, 2020
Wellness and Fun Fair – 12:30 p.m.
Race – 2 p.m.
After careful consideration, the Physician Assistant Program of Kettering College is announcing the cancelation of the Spring Into Health 5k. Even though this was not our original plan, this decision was made after consideration of the directives of Gov. DeWine and Dr. Acton of the State Health Department to limit the spread of Coronavirus/COVID-19.
April 5th would have been the 12th occurrence of the Spring Into Health 5k. Over the past 11 years more than $75,000 has been donated to Good Neighbor House and over $23,000 was raised for the Physician Assistant Professional Education Fund. The students have worked hard to raise the nearly $100,000 with your assistance.
Kettering College Physician Assistant Program is proud to partner with Good Neighbor House (GNH) each year for the annual Spring Into Health 5k event. GNH recently celebrated 25 years of “empowering healthier communities by fostering the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of our neighbors.” GNH provides dental, medical, and optical care to the under-insured or uninsured. In addition to the much-in-demand clinical services, the organization provides free counseling with a licensed counselor, a food pantry, a thrift store, and a special Wellness Program.
The Physician Assistant Professional Education Fund supports students in extracurricular educational opportunities. The PA students attend a conference geared toward them at The Cleveland Clinic each year. Some also attend the national conference of the American Association of Physician Assistants. At these conferences students study medicine & professionalism topics, network with other students and with practicing PA’s, and bond as a class group.
If you signed up:
Because we would like to continue to support these causes, we are providing the opportunity for you to donate your registration fee to be split between Good Neighbor House and the Educational Fund. We are also prepared to refund your registration fee. An email has been sent to you with the two options. Please select your option before Monday, March 22, 2020 to let us know your preference.
You can also visit Speedy Feet at this link to select either option:

Thank you for your support of the Spring Into Health 5k.
We pray for safety and good health to each of you,
The Kettering College Physician Assistant Class of 2021
About Spring into Health 5K
The Kettering College Physician Assistant Program will host its 12th annual Spring into Health 5K run/walk, benefiting Dayton’s Good Neighbor House (75%) and the College’s Physician Assistant Student Professional Development Fund (25%).
Almost 400 runners and walkers participated in last year’s Spring into Health 5K in April 2019, raising more than $10,000 for Good Neighbor House and the physician assistant department’s student professional development fund. In June 2019, students in the physician assistant department, who have been the primary organizers of the event since its start, awarded Good Neighbor House staff with a donation as a result of this race.
