Welcome Week 2023: Aug. 24-27

Welcome to Kettering College! Welcome week is a time of learning how to best succeed as a Kettering College student. Our wish is that all our students leave this week with an understanding of Kettering College’s faith-based values and campus culture, strategies for succeeding academically, and a solid foundation in our community through meeting other students, faculty, and staff.

Join us on the Kettering College Main Campus (3737 Southern Blvd. Kettering, OH 45429) for the activities below.

Thursday, Aug. 24	Residence Hall Move-in Day: 9 am – 6 pm Location: KC Main Campus (3737 Southern Blvd. Kettering, OH 45429) Residence Hall Welcome Grab N’ Go Lunch: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm Location: KC upper lobby Residence Hall Orientation and Supper: 6 pm – 8 pm Location: KC Residence Hall Students who are living in the residence hall in the fall will be asked to participate in orientation. The Associate Director of Residence Life will go through the policies and procedures of the building, as well as activities that students can get involved in Residence Hall Game Night and Mixer: 8 pm – 10 pm Location: KC Residence Hall This will be a great opportunity to meet the other students and get to know them. We encourage participation.
Friday, Aug. 25	Check-In: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Get badges, parking passes, and financial aid follow-up – this time is optional if all of those things have been taken care of during previous visits. Career Fair: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Location: Lower Level Learning Commons Our Career Services Director will be hosting a career fair for all students. This is a great opportunity to meet a variety of leaders at Kettering College who are looking for student workers, and Kettering Health hiring managers who are looking for employees in the hospital system, and gives you time to interact with Kettering Health’s Human Resources Team. Lunch: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Location: KC Auditorium Lunch is provided by Kettering Health Human Resources Team Program Orientation: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Location: Respiratory G110 Nursing: B-145 and B-146 Radiology: G28 (2nd year students) and G155 (1st year students) Sonography: L20 All admitted program students will be meeting with their program during this time for program orientation. Welcome to Kettering College: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Location: KC Auditorium Our official kickoff! This session will be focused on providing clarity about who we are as an institution – sharing our mission and values and how we can help you reach your goals and have a successful college experience. Resource Fair: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Location: Lower Level Learning Commons During this time, we will have various departments on campus available to you and how they can assist you in a successful school year ahead. Order your books through the online bookstore, purchase Kettering College apparel, check your transfer credits, access IT help, and more! Pre-Program Orientation: 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Location: KC Auditorium Learn about the Student Success Center, meet your academic coach, and information about our First Year Experience program. This is also a great time to ask any questions you may have or do any last-minute business with financial aid and the registrar. Break: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm Take a break and enjoy a little downtime before dinner. We will have cold drinks, yard games, and a little time to relax. Now is a great time to go home (if you’re local) and grab your family, significant other, or a friend to bring back for dinner! Dinner: 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm Location: Front Courtyard Come and enjoy pizza and subs from local Dayton restaurants, and socialize with other new students and faculty, and staff. Worship Service: 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm After dinner, we’d love to have you join us in the Kettering College Auditorium for worship. This is an optional worship service, but we would love the opportunity to share some time of music, encouragement, and fellowship.

Saturday, Aug. 26,	Kettering Adventist Church Service: 10 am – 11 am Location: Kettering Adventist Church (3939 Stonebridge Rd, Dayton, OH 45419) You’re invited to join us for a worship service at Kettering Adventist Church Kettering Adventist Church Bible Study: 11 am – 12 pm Location: Kettering Adventist Church Join us for a Kettering College Bible Study led by our KC Chaplain. Kettering College Student Life Night: 8 pm – 10 pm Location: TBD
Sunday, Aug. 27	Residence Hall Pancake Breakfast: 10 am – 12 pm Location: Anna May’s Café All new and returning students who are living in our Residence Hall will be provided a pancake breakfast. Come on down to Anna May’s Café and enjoy a freshly made breakfast, hosted by our Residence Life team

Student Services Appointments to Complete Enrollment Business:

Student services offices are available from 8:30 am-4:30 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, August 23-25, and Friday from 8:00 am-1:00 pm for any students who need to complete final enrollment items. The following offices will be available at this time: the admissions office, records office, financial aid department, and the IT help desk. You can receive your parking pass and student ID at this time. We’ll be hosting campus tours every day at 10 am and 2 pm as well! Just stop by the front desk at this time.
