Technology Requirements for Students

Kettering College embraces the integration of technology in our programs for enhanced learning. It is important that our students equip themselves with the technology tools they will need for success.

Personal Computers

Students should have a desktop or laptop computer. PC’s need to be using the Windows 10 operating system, and Macs need to be using macOS 10.13 or higher.

Chromebooks, tablets, or smartphones are not recommended. Please note that these devices may not be capable of meeting all course requirements. Students still must have access to a computer with the recommended operating systems mentioned above.

Required Software

Students can use Microsoft Office, LibreOffice or OpenOffice. However, assignments should be submitted only in Microsoft Office compatible formats. Students should always check with their instructors concerning acceptable formats before submitting assignments.

Required Hardware

Students need to have access to a web camera, microphone and speakers or headphones.

Supported Web Browsers

Students are encouraged to use the Chrome web browser, however, Edge, Firefox and Safari are additional browser options supported.

Internet Connection

Students should have a reliable Internet Service Provider with speeds suitable for streaming video and accessing large files.
