Are you an incoming Kettering College freshman looking to strengthen your foundation in science and math before the fall semester? Join our free, one-week workshop designed to prepare you for academic success!
This free, one-week (August 19 – 23, full schedule listed below) workshop will begin the week before the first day of the semester. The sessions are open to all Kettering College incoming freshmen; however, it is strongly recommended for students with lower math/science sub-scores on the ACT/SAT exams and/or high school cumulative GPA.

What is the refresher course?
This course is designed to equip students with the foundational skills, effective learning strategies, and confidence necessary to excel in the study of science and mathematics. Through a combination of interactive lectures, practical exercises, and collaborative activities, students will develop critical thinking abilities, problem-solving techniques, and a deeper conceptual understanding of key scientific and mathematical principles. The course will emphasize the application of these skills in real-world scenarios, fostering confidence and competence in tackling fundamental scientific and mathematical problems.

Who should attend the sessions?
There are currently three separate ways we determine need for the refresher. ACT/SAT scores, KC Math Placement Testing Scores and high school GPA. Charts below should be used as a guide.
