Kettering College Interprofessional Education Simulation Center

What is the SIM Center? Why do we have one? Kettering College IPE Simulation Center is a state-of-the art health care training facility which integrates various types of simulations in order to improve patient safety by replicating diverse scenarios. The IPE Simulation Center was started to enhance interprofessional education and collaboration of all divisions within the college. Both current and future health care professionals have the opportunity to enhance their skills by cultivating advanced techniques while working with an interdisciplinary team to reach a benchmark in their specialized field of work.

Mission:  The Mission of the Kettering College Interprofessional Education Simulation Center (IPE) is to enrich the delivery of professional, high quality patient care. The IPE Center will impact how multiple healthcare disciplines communicate and collaborate to achieve exceptional patient care outcomes. We are committed to providing a safe practice environment through the use of active learning and simulation. The IPE Center is a resource to enhance faculty development in the areas of learning and simulation based research. The Mission of the IPE Center is in accordance with the Missions of Kettering College and Kettering Health Network.

Vision:  The IPE Center prepares healthcare providers of different disciplines to practice health care using a collaborative approach to meet the evolving needs of patients in a multitude of settings. The Center incorporates the use of high fidelity simulation and advanced technology in the replication of real-life patient situations in alignment with best practices in the field.

Hours of Operation:  IPE normally operates 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00-3:00pm on Friday.  After hours and weekend access need to be approved in advance by the IPE Director before scheduling a simulation event.

After hours use of the laboratory is limited to individuals and groups actively participating in an approved program by the IPE Center. If you need emergency access to the facility after hours, please contact the IPE assistant at 937-395-8601 x57017.
