Bachelor of Science in Health Science (BSHS) Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences programs acquire advanced skills, knowledge, and values to expand their professional roles in the healthcare environment while incorporating a comprehensive knowledge base as a healthcare professional.
The graduate of the BS in Health Science End of Program Student Learning Outcomes:
- Integrates communication skills in interprofessional teams within the healthcare industry.
- Incorporates information technology skills in a variety of healthcare settings.
- Engages in critical thinking, reflection, and problem-solving skills through evidence-based practice in multiple healthcare settings.
- Contributes to and advocates for continuous improvement of the health care system through promoting public policy.
- Demonstrates respect and adaptability within a changing health care environment.
- Incorporates current knowledge, theory, and research into health professions’ practice.
- Demonstrates professional, ethical, spiritual, and compassionate service within the healthcare arena.
- Integrates the Christian principles of service and citizenship for the benefit of society.
- Empowers themselves and others through the integration of leadership, management, and teaching/learning skills in the healthcare environment.
- Integrates population-based and preventative health care when working with individuals, families, and communities.
- Integrates economic, accounting, financial, and healthcare policy knowledge into the healthcare management practice (Healthcare Management and Healthcare Studies majors).
