Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Accelerated BSN Admission Requirements
Admission to the A-BSN track nursing program for those with students that have already obtained a bachelor’s degree (any major) and have completed the seven required prerequisites. Preference is given to individuals who demonstrate academic strength in the prerequisite coursework and college GPA.
- Must submit an application and college transcripts to be considered for admission. Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university to be eligible for admission in this track. Students enter the program with 56 credits for the previous bachelor’s degree and prerequisites and earn an additional 69 credits through classes, labs, and hands-on clinical rotations.
- Minimum GPA: Applicants must present college transcripts reflecting a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (*GPA 2.95 or greater will be rounded up)(on a 4.0 scale) with a minimum of a 2.8 for all science courses.
- Science prerequisite courses reflecting a cumulative GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale) or above with a minimum of a C for all prerequisite courses. Prerequisite science courses required for admission: pathophysiology, statistics, developmental psychology, chemistry, microbiology (with a lab), and anatomy & physiology I and II (both with a biology lab). Science prerequisite must be taken within five years. Science courses taken greater than five years will be considered for acceptance on an individual basis with documentation of recent experiences in a healthcare field.
If you already have all prerequisites completed, you can be immediately considered for admission directly into the A-BSN track. If you have any remaining prerequisite courses to complete, you can apply for admission to take them at Kettering College or complete them at any regionally accredited college or university.
