Welcome to the Science and Math Department
Statement of Purpose
The Science/Math Department does not offer any degree programs or majors. It exists to be a service to the degree-granting departments. Basic pre-requisite science and math courses in addition to several other courses required within the degree programs are provided. The goal is to provide students with a good foundation in the basic science and math knowledge they will be expected to use and build on for their specific degrees.
The Science/Math department offers learning opportunities in:
- General Chemistry I and II
- Organic Chemistry I and II
- Basic Anatomy and Physiology
- Introduction to Chemistry
- Basic Microbiology
- Introductory Physics
- Introduction to Algebra
- Probability and Stats
- Other science and math courses
Students who perform well in these courses are likely to be successful in their specific degree courses, and in many cases, grades in these pre-requisite courses are pivotal in admission into programs of study.
