Kettering College Celebrates 55th Commencement Ceremony
April 28, 2023 – Kettering College held its 55th commencement ceremony at SouthBrook Christian Church. Fifty-four graduates from various programs participated in this ceremony. The degrees being conferred included:
- 23 Doctorates of Occupational Therapy
- 1 Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences
- 7 Bachelor of Science in Human Biology
- 4 Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- 17 Associates of Science in Radiologic Technology
As is typical with any commencement ceremony, the students and faculty were excited, proud, and relieved to have reached such a momentous accomplishment after years of hard work and sacrifice, including having to adapt to a global pandemic.
Kettering College president Dr. Nate Brandstater welcomed the students by saying: “You came to us with a brilliant vision of your future, and a passion for making the world a better place. Your vision has seen beyond the great challenges of our time, including a global pandemic, economic and social disruptions, and conflicts all over the world. In this time healthcare has been recognized more clearly as a calling and that those who answer that calling are heroes.”
“As we continue into this new chapter, may we convey empathy, love boldly, share grace, extend hope, walk humbly, and be the light.”
-Savanna Bennington, Commencement Ceremony Speaker
Savannah Bennington, a student graduating with a doctorate in occupational therapy was the speaker at the event. She addressed the graduates, saying, “I believe you as graduates were made for times such as this, and God has a plan for your impact on our world. Today begins the new start of a new chapter in our journey of life….One question I always ask myself, and I challenge you to ask yourself is, ‘How do I want to write my story in this chapter?’…As we continue into this new chapter, may we convey empathy, love boldly, share grace, extend hope, walk humbly, and be the light.”
Congratulations to all the graduates, and may God be with you as you answer the call to serve others as healthcare professionals.
