Kettering College Celebrates Radiologic Technology Week
November 8, 2024 – National Radiologic Technology Week is concluding but our appreciation is not. The week is celebrated annually to recognize medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals and the vital work they do to diagnose, treat, and educate patients.
To pay tribute to the dedicated professionals in this field, we are telling the story of one of our students, Jenna Neiman, who is pursuing this career path by studying Radiologic Sciences and Imaging (Rad Tech) at Kettering College.
She says she always knew she wanted a job where she would make a difference and help others and felt healthcare was where she could do this. She initially pursued a nursing degree but admits it wasn’t where her heart was.
She says, “I ended up asking God to help lead me on a path to a career. A few weeks later, I started a job at an orthopedic center. I started to learn more about X-rays through the techs there. I job shadowed one day and instantly felt in my heart that this was where God was leading me. This is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”
Jenna felt so called to rad tech that she immediately applied to various colleges in Ohio. Some friends who were attending Kettering College in other programs told her how much they loved it. She says, “I asked God for guidance again to open the door to the school where I should be.” The signs brought her to Kettering College for a tour where she quickly felt at home and has been thriving ever since.
She says, “I love the atmosphere and the people at Kettering College. The professors and staff are amazing. They truly go above and beyond for their students and care about their success. I also like the morals and values that Kettering College stands for in general. The holistic care they deliver is one of the biggest qualities I want to invest in for myself, especially in my occupation.”
We thank Jenna Neiman for choosing Kettering College and letting us be a part of her journey toward becoming a radiologic technologist. She says once she receives her associate degree, she is considering going into radiation therapy. “I can help people battling hardships daily,” she says.
We appreciate Jenna and all Rad Tech students and faculty at Kettering College who have committed their lives to serving others. We’re glad you’re here!
