Respiratory Care Program Earns National Recognition for Excellence
Our Respiratory Care program has been recognized on a national level for its outstanding student success and commitment to excellence. The program has received the Distinguished RRT Credentialing Success Award from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), a prestigious honor that highlights exceptional achievement in preparing graduates for professional success.

This award is part of CoARC’s ongoing effort to emphasize the importance of the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential as a benchmark of professional excellence. From an outcomes perspective, the organization views RRT credential attainment as a key indicator of a program’s ability to inspire students to reach their highest educational and career aspirations.
To earn this distinction in 2025, our Respiratory Care program met a rigorous set of criteria established by CoARC. These include maintaining at least three years of outcomes data, holding full accreditation without requiring a progress report, and achieving a credentialing success rate of 90 percent or higher among graduates. In addition, the program met or exceeded national benchmarks for the Therapist Multiple-Choice (TMC) high cut score and student retention.
This recognition places our program among a select group of institutions nationwide that demonstrate sustained excellence in respiratory care education. It reflects the dedication of our faculty, the determination of our students, and the strength of a curriculum designed to prepare graduates for real-world impact in healthcare settings. “We’re honored to be recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care. This award reflects the dedication and commitment of our faculty and Student Success team, and the hard work of our students, who continue to achieve at the highest level” says Scott Bennie, Dean of Academic Affairs. “It’s a meaningful affirmation of Kettering College and the program’s commitment to preparing respiratory therapists for excellence in practice and service.”
The award will be formally recognized at the CoARC Awards Ceremony on July 12 in Bonita Springs, Florida, where programs from across the country will gather to celebrate this achievement.
While this honor is a significant milestone, it also reinforces our continued commitment to excellence. Our Respiratory Care program remains focused on preparing highly skilled, compassionate professionals who are ready to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare field.
