RN to BSN Degree Expectations at Kettering College

      1. Credit Transfer
Students will receive 65 credits for their nursing coursework from the institution they attended. Any additional college classes taken beyond these 65 credits through a regionally accredited institution will also transfer to Kettering College. Credits beyond the 65 cannot be transferred from nationally accredited institutions.
      2. Core Curriculum
The core curriculum provides 31 credits in required arts, sciences, and nursing courses. If students take a statistics course with us, they will earn an additional 3 credits for a total of 34 credits. Alternatively, students may transfer statistics credits from another regionally accredited institution.
      3. Additional Credits
Students can earn additional credits through a variety of methods, including:

        • Completing courses at Kettering College
        • Transferring credits from previously attended regionally accredited institutions
        • Earning CLEP credits
        • Gaining validated Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through an internal process

This process is individualized since students come from various institutions and may have attended multiple colleges.

      Total Credit Requirement
In the state of Ohio, a minimum of 120 credits is required to earn a bachelor’s degree. The credits listed above are how students meet this requirement.
