Kettering College Brand Refresh

Kettering College Brand Refresh

With the launch of the brand refresh, we understand KC employees may have questions on what this means for them now and going forward.

What is a brand refresh?
A brand refresh is like a makeover–it’s an updated look of your already established brand identity. A brand refresh can include a slightly altered or modernized logo, updated fonts, and a new color palette.

A brand refresh is not a rebrand, which is a top to bottom change of a company or organization’s entire identity.

Why a brand refresh?
Kettering College has continued to work to be aligned with Kettering Health since our beginnings. Kettering College has had a few makeovers in our day, including a name change–from Kettering College of Medical Arts to Kettering College and many renovations to our building, such as the building of the Boonshoft, the IPE Simulation Center, and the residence hall.

This refresh will continue to build on the legacy of Kettering College and our namesake, Charles F. Kettering, in our the community by innovation, superior graduates and passion for service and health.

Below are some frequently asked questions, Kettering Health and Kettering College have provided that may some of your initial questions. You can also submit a question, comment, or word of encouragement at the bottom of the page. The PR & Marketing department will work to answer your question as quickly as possible.

FAQ’s

    • What’s the time frame of this brand refresh?

This is a long term project and our timeline will be a little different from Kettering Health’s. Our PR & Marketing department is still finalizing some of those details. We will communicate as soon as we know exactly what our timeline will look like. Some things will change immediately, like our website, while other things, like signage around our campus will take longer.

    • A brand refresh costs money as there will be replacing signage, branded documents, and more. How is Kettering College implementing this in a cost-effective manner?

From the beginning, Kettering Health emphasized an efficient and cost-effective approach. With that in mind, we’ll slowly deplete our inventory of printed items and other branded materials and update them as we run out. You can expect most brand updates to be completed by May 2022. One complicated aspect of this project is permanent signage, which will take a little longer. Over the next three years, every building within Kettering Health will get new signage, and they will share that schedule as appropriate. This approach will allow us to implement the brand refresh in a cost-effective manner and do so in a resourceful manner.

    • Will be there an updated PowerPoint template for us to use for presentations?

Yes, the new PowerPoint template is available for you to download on our branding page.

    • Can I use the seal?

According to our already established brand standards, listed on our branding page, the use of the Kettering College seal should be limited to formal and official communications. Examples of appropriate seal usage would be diplomas, certificates, offer letters, legal documents, and communications from the College president. The seal should not be used in email signatures, posters, flyers, and any information communications.

    • Should I continue to distribute brochures, program sheets, etc. with the old logo on them?

Employees may use the rest of any brochures, program sheets, etc. that they have. Employees and departments requesting future print items will need to do so through the PR & Marketing department with the new brand and logo going forward.
