Kettering College Giving Day: Making Education Accessible
April 4, 2024 — Each year, Kettering College hosts Giving Day, a 24-hour fundraising event, to continue to make quality education affordable and accessible to students. Alumni, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to give a monetary gift of any size to make an impact on the lives of our students who will continue to advance healthcare in our region and beyond.
This year’s Giving Day will be held on April 10, 2024, at Kettering College’s main campus. Anyone not on campus can give a gift to the scholarship fund of their choice by going to givingday.kc.edu starting on April 10. The website will list several fun challenges to donors near and far, newly graduated alumni, and alumni who are retired from their healthcare careers with fond memories of Kettering College.
The mission is to gather as a Kettering College family to help support and cheer on our current students who are stepping into careers in healthcare. As they answer this sacred call to serve others, Kettering College wants to help make the journey smoother by assisting qualifying students with funds raised on Giving Day.
Tina Howard, Kettering College giving officer, says the day will begin with coffee for faculty and staff with leadership and Kettering College board members. Any faculty or staff member on campus who gives a monetary gift of $25 or more will be entered into a raffle for a covered parking spot near the main campus building. Two additional parking spots will be raffled off for any student giving at least a $5 donation. As always, prime parking is a hot commodity here!
Last year, Tina added a very popular event: Pie a Professor (or Staff Member)! This event will be happening again this year and is open to any student who gives a gift supporting one of the scholarship funds.
Tina says, “This is our third Giving Day, and let’s make it our best! Our goal is to have 200 donors supporting the college, our students, and you. Every gift counts, no matter the size. So let’s come together for one day and one cause — to support the college we love!”
